This is an old bomb shelter at a primary school in Chomutov, Czech Republic. This photo really puts things into perspective for me. There hasn’t been a day in my life where I’ve ever had to think about where my nearest bomb shelter might be and for that I am so so grateful. I don’t want to take anything for granted, especially not my safety from war. I think about the parts of our world that are enduring war or have endured war or even the threat of war and it breaks my heart.

When staying in Chodovská Huť we were able to take a ten minute drive across the boarder into Germany, we found the nearest little town and a cafe, none of us spoke the language but with the help of google translate we managed to order some hot drinks and pastries. It was really cool just being there, I can also confirm that the hot chocolate and pastry that I had were amazing

In a few hours, I'll be on the TGV to go back to my parents' house in Périgord this weekend (lovely region by the way^^). It's the opportunity to share here some of my best creations made for my family members over the years, because being a crafts(wo)man helps a lot with gifts!

Vegtan leather phone case, tooled with an ammonite pattern that my other uncle collects and hand-dyed in cognac color.
Little tooling of my paternal uncle's tractor on vegtan leather, again for a brown belt commissionned and gifted by my first cousin !

I’m curious: What would you say is the hardest part about being a small, independent creator?

For me, it’s probably the fact that paid leave barely exists so even when you’re sick or exhausted af you power through in order to make ends meet.
(don’t get me wrong, I love my job, but there are downsides to everything 🙃)

I wish I could remember which castle ruins this was but it was so random, a teeny tiny little town with a castle ruins sitting at the very top. It was probably the coldest I’d ever been but it was beyond cool to explore. It was afterwards when we were climbing back down that we experienced our first snow in the Czech Republic and it was truly magical
