One thing I have learned over the years is that when governments eliminate programs from the budget as a response to economic downturns, they’re usually not reinstated when the economy rebounds. The reinstatement costs more than if the program was just kept on the back burner…#speakerjohnson is talking about eliminating courts…it took decades for us to get social security and a few more for Medicare. People fought hard for those things and if they go, they’ll be gone for good.

The committee’s findings were horrific.
