A National Cycle Networt Millennium Mile Post on the Clyde Walkway in Glasgow. Erected in 2000, this is one of four post designs. It was created by Andrew Rowe, and is based upon the nautical and industrial heritage of his native Swansea. A programme to repaint as many of the mile posts as possible began in 2021, with each one being painted in its own unique way.

Did my good deed for the week today when I did a little voluntary work for #Sustrans (UK cycling/active travel charity & advocates). They were looking for people to audit paths that linked with the national cycle network & I finally did my section today.
Walked the route cos I thought I could be more thorough that way. Was supposed to be 5 miles but ended up walking 9 miles. My feet are sad...

@BicycleBen while we're on this, the choice of roads for the #sustrans National Cycle Network also seems pretty anti-cyclist. I'm thinking particularly of the NCN7 west from Dumfries, which chooses hillier, more twisty routes with poor sightlines over flatter, straighter routes with better visibility.
As routes for effective #ActiveTravel, they're more or less useless.

Well, #Hampshire County Council still think cyclists should not be using the #NationalCycleNetwork Route 23 to get to #JaysClose/#Viables Industrial Estate in #Basingstoke - there's still no dropped kerb since they built the new section of pavement. Is this negligence, ignorance, or deliberate due to a dislike of #cyclists? I wonder why #SusTrans don't audit the #NCN?
Have successfully cycled from just south of Oldham to the Blue Dot festival at Joddrel Bank.
Only 4 hours, including a couple of mechanicals and a coffee stop at the bike cafe on the Fallowfield Loop.
Note to Garmin - the A34 is in no way a bike friendly route.
Entrance to the Fallowfield Loop is still extremely unfriendly.

National Cycle Network route 72 is also called Hadrian’s Cycleway. It used to end at Ravenglass (a former Roman port). NCN 72 is also the only way for cyclists to pass the massive Sellafield site without using the fast & narrow A595. But #Sustrans have decided the section of NCN72 between Sellafield station and Seascale is too degraded to use - and so now advise cyclists to use the train instead! Why won’t they fix it? #BritishCycling #Cycling #WeAreCycling
This seems like a non-story to me.
Surely #BritishCycling is primarily an organisation for sports & leisure cyclists?
Organisations like #LondonCyclingCampaign or equivalents and #WeAreCycling or #Sustrans are more for pushing utility cycling & urban improvements for everyday #cycling
