When they rerecorded it for their eponymous full length release two years later, <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/RayManzarek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#RayManzarek</a> himself added organ and it fits perfectly. Many prefer the earlier, leaner version, the last recording with that fresh, earnest (lower budget?) Apparently it was an Ajax detergent tagline about the time they were recording Perception. But nowhere can I find an authoritative explanation for WHY. Some speculate it was making fun of Buick for using Light My Fire in an ad; other's speculate it was just the band goofing around. ?
