FOG Ransomware Spread by Cybercriminals Claiming Ties to DOGE

An investigation of nine malware samples revealed FOG ransomware being distributed by cybercriminals impersonating the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The ransomware, spread via email and phishing attacks, is concealed in a ZIP file named 'Pay Adjustment.zip'. The infection chain involves a multi-stage operation, downloading various scripts and executables. The ransomware checks for sandbox environments, decrypts its payload, and drops a ransom note. FOG ransomware has targeted multiple sectors, including technology, education, manufacturing, and transportation. The campaign either involves original FOG operators using DOGE references to troll users or other actors embedding FOG ransomware for impersonation purposes.

old media: newspapers, tv, radio, it's always been manipulated. but it at least had the pretense of civility. this standard no longer holds as old media fades away and everyone is on social media accepting lying bigoted edgelord trolls as the center of attention

so #bigotry is nothing new, but it is amplified like never before

Unmasking the new XorDDoS controller and infrastructure

The XorDDoS trojan, a DDoS malware targeting Linux machines, continues to spread globally with over 70% of attacks targeting the United States from Nov 2023 to Feb 2025. The operators are believed to be Chinese-speaking individuals based on language settings. A new 'VIP version' of the XorDDoS controller and central controller have been discovered, enabling more sophisticated and widespread attacks. The malware uses SSH brute-force attacks to gain access and implements persistence mechanisms. A new central controller allows threat actors to manage multiple sub-controllers simultaneously, enhancing attack coordination. The infection chain, decryption methods, and network communication patterns between the trojan, sub-controller, and central controller are analyzed in detail.

So möchte doch jeder gerne derbe beleidigt werden.😃

Das Wasserproblem muss man konkretisieren zu "Süß"wasser.
Schon an Küstengebieten wird das Meer immer da sein, auch wenn durch fehlenden Regen Flüsse und Seen austrocknen.
Deshalb wird versucht, z.B. Kartoffeln zu züchten, die man mit Salzwasser bewässern kann oder gleich auch salzliebende Pflanzen umsteigen.

Damit kommt aber kein Tropfen Wasser auf die Alm, gefriert zu Gletschereis, geschweige denn zu Bodensee oder Rhein zu werden.

Bei der Rumgeschwurbelei frage ich mich dann immer, was das helfen soll?
So eine Mad Max Dystopie zu schaffen, wo Endzeitmenschen mit Verbrenner durch die Wüste fahren. Das ist doch kein Ziel. Und dann sollte auch das Geschäft mit Öl nicht mehr laufen.

Auch als Wirtschafts-Techi komme ich zu dem Punkt, wo Technik (nachgeordnet) in einen nachhaltigen Lebenszyklus integriert sein muss.
