"132 Avenue is a #yeg-owned collector road. #Alberta does not maintain or operate this roadway. The street is home to schools, homes, seniors’ centres, parks, and small businesses. It's not a freight corridor like the high-volume Yellowhead Trail just south of this project.

"Through four years of engagement, Edmontonians shaped this plan for slower speeds, safer crossings, bike and walk infrastructure, and a livable street.

"The Province wants to override that work."

Hello, #YEG! Guess who just got accepted to this year's Whyte Avenue Art Walk!? As "Alberta’s oldest and largest non-juried visual arts festival," this event is kind of a big deal.

Celebrating its 30th year, it will see 400 artists lining the streets at the height of summer; I’ve always come home with a piece of art when I’ve strolled through. Spots for #Photographers in particular are limited, so I’m extra delighted that I made it in!

Absolutely infuriating! The UCP is pulling another Ford Nation on Edmonton.

'In a letter dated April 16, 2025, Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors Devin Dreeshen demanded that the City cancel or postpone the construction of bike lanes between 66 Street and 97 Street, citing concerns about "driving capacity."

This proposal is not only out of touch—it’s dangerous.

Let’s be clear: 132 Avenue is a City-owned residential collector road. It’s not part of Alberta’s provincial highway system. The Province does not fund this project, nor does it maintain or operate this roadway. The street is home to schools, homes, seniors’ centres, parks, and small businesses—not freight corridors.

The renewal design was developed through four years of public engagement. Hundreds of Edmontonians helped shape this plan. They asked for slower speeds, safer crossings, better bike and walk infrastructure, and a more livable street.

The Province now wants to override that work—and remove already-approved, already-funded infrastructure—based on political ideology, not data.'

Hey #yeg, keep an eye out if you're looking for music gear. Long & McQuade South was robbed of hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment, some of which was customer-owned.

Attached is a list of all that was stolen.
