In the #yoyo community today I've seen three companies announce they are shutting down. Two of those announcements turned out to be real, but one was a prank.
I also saw three companies announce super-wide yo-yos today, and honestly I don't know if any of those are real or not. I think one might be, or maybe two. I hate April Fools.

Some friends went to the Pacific Northwest Regional Yo-Yo Contest in Portland and spotted a cocktail named after one of my #yoyo tricks: Skin The Gerbil! Pretty wild to see it on a menu. I FINALLY got my hands on an Accel Origin by Bandai. This weird little #yoyo has free-spinning caps on the sides. It's a lot harder to control than a normal yo-yo, but I had fun messing around.
Got a new mold in for counterweights, and I can't wait to pour some and share some pics!
I took a train to Sacramento today. The second we got off the train, I started playing with my #yoyo and this stranger walks buy and asks “have you heard of Doctor Popular?”. I said “that’s me” and we chatted for a minute. It turns out I was talking to #AndySinger, a cartoonist from Minneapolis that was a major influence on me and my art. It’s funny we bumped into each other in a town neither of us live in. I’ll write more about him, and the impact he had on my life, soon.
