Infrogmation

Belated Fediverse introduction:
Hi, I'm Carlos May, often known as "Froggy" both online and IRL, and "Infrogmation" many places online since the late 1990s.

I'm the Infrogmation who has long been active on Wikimedia, especially Wikimedia Commons.

I'm a New Orleanian - New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Other places I've lived include Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, Broward County, Florida, USA, Antigua Guatemala, and Belize City, Belize.

In hypothetical times of less drama, I'd be posting more about New Orleans, especially history and jazz, and MesoAmerican archaeology.

I posted on the Birdsite for a decade, slowly phasing it out when Elno took over (my account there was "permanently" deleted by Twitter management the other day, but for some reason is currently back up.)

In the 2000s I was on LiveJournal - I transfered my old account to Dreamwidth, which also has a few occasional more recent posts. I kept this in large part for the archive of my personal life before, during, and after the Federal levee failure disaster during Hurricane Katrina in 2005 which devastated Greater New Orleans.

I picked up this while backpacking around Europe in 1993. I've been often using low-res crops of it as my avatar in various online forums since about 1996.

My cover photo is cropped from a snapshot I took of the New Orleans Riverfront Streetcar along the Mississippi River in the French Quarter of New Orleans in February 2020.
