I didn't want to write anything about my thoughts on the but, damn. I did. Though it is not about Stallman's views this time. I have already written those articles. This one about how, I my opinion ironic the whole thing is.

Blender DumbassStallman Report The Irony Of Conservative Leftists

@blenderdumbass@mastodon.online Are you anti-age of consent? I think that's going too far

Blender Dumbass ( J.Y.Amihud )

@mikwee There 3 types of laws.

Freedom laws, that I support. Those are: Do not rape, Do not kill, and so on and so forth.

Power laws that I dislike. Those are: Don't criticize the state. Don't copy a song that has a major label attached to it and so on.

And Paternalism laws. Those are when it's not allowed for you to do something for your own good. Examples: Don't cross the road on red. Don't do drugs.

Age of consent laws are in the third category. But pretend to be in the first.

@blenderdumbass@mastodon.online The question is: Is it really good for an 8 year old to have sex?

@mikwee I don't think it is. You missed my point. The point I was making. Is it should be banned for you to do something that is bad for you?

@blenderdumbass@mastodon.online I think not for adults. But we as a society have commonly agreed that minors deserve protection, since their mind is yet to be developed. I can tell you I couldn't have made many decisions I can today at 8. I don't think all legal ages should be 18 - I support lowering the voting age to 16, and I think that's also the best age of consent. But we gotta put some boundary as to who can sign contracts, and we've agreed on 18+ as that boundary.

@mikwee You mentioned signing contracts. This is actually a good example. In my life I barely had coworkers that read their contracts. Those are usually abused by the bosses. And they are often mesmerized by me actually reading the damn thing and even arguing over things. So here are 2 questions:

Is being 18 actually enough? ( I doubt it ).
Does that mean we should take that freedom away? ( I don't think so. )
