Things I didn't know I needed (and still am pretty sure I don't need): precision-engineered single blade nail clippers? "Stop crushing your nails" - but maybe my nails like being crushed?

The marketing copy on this gets credit for attracting my attention. Definitely not something I need. I don't feel like they deserve a real link but if you really want to see this product it's edjy dot com.

Also: we're just using random strings for domains now? Lol.

Also: fuck, I tapped on / stopped scrolling on this ad, $deity knows what I'm going to be getting for ads now...

@tim you know what the best feature would be for ad tech that viewers would actually appreciate? A button that lets you "take back" or cancel an erroneously perceived interest. All parties involved should benefit.

@ferrix the various mechanisms for hiding an ad do tend to have a "tell us why" option of some sort but a) it can be kind of hidden and b) it has varying levels of success because I'm sure people use it to try to over manipulate their ads and then the ad companies muck with weightings and it becomes a complex system that is hard to understand and then skynet evolves.

@ferrix you're absolutely right though that for remarketing ads in particular the advertiser would really like to get that signal and not spend on the wasted ad. The advertising middleman doesn't care and would rather not spend the effort (though, if they're charging for conversions it's in their interest as well since an uninterested customer will never convert).

It's a complicated marketplace for sure. Made more so by fragmentation and limited/no data sharing.
