Do you know the feeling when a person says “I have found out who I am and I no longer want to change that” and think to yourself “that’s fine and good for you, but maybe adapt a little more to the group dynamic 
”?
We all adapt to groups. You should never have to change core beliefs and values, but a lot of the small stuff needs to find a way to the common good.
From my pov, if you are in a setting where your true self, with slight modifications, is not valued, it’s probably not a match. Find other people, we are a lot on the planet
