Yellow-eyed penguins are endemic to New Zealand and will soon-ish make the <a href="https://mst.mineown.de/tags/extinction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>extinction</span></a> list. <br>From where I stand behind me, the black, 180 million years old petrified forest rests in the shallow waters. AFAIK, unlike the white variety, black petrified forest kept its carbon which makes it a <a href="https://mst.mineown.de/tags/carbonsink" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>carbonsink</span></a> .<br>180mio years ago, this location was near today's South pole, global Ø temperature might have been 2ºC warmer than pre-industrial and <a href="https://mst.mineown.de/tags/CO2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CO2</span></a> concentration might have been ~900ppm.</p>
