ReverendRef<p>It’s Monday before <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/HolyWeek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HolyWeek</span></a> and I just proofed the <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/PalmSunday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PalmSunday</span></a> bulletin. That only leaves <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/HolySaturday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HolySaturday</span></a>, <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/EasterVigil" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EasterVigil</span></a>, and <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/EasterDay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EasterDay</span></a> to go. At least that part of my life is going well.<br><a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Episcopal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Episcopal</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/SLECBuffalo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SLECBuffalo</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/PriestLife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PriestLife</span></a></p>
ReverendRef<p>This morning my parish admin came to me with a question about the <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/GoodFriday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GoodFriday</span></a> bulletin. This is good news, as GF is two weeks out and she’s that far ahead of the game. If she keeps this up, my plan to have a stress-free <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/HolyWeek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HolyWeek</span></a> will actually happen.<br><a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Episcopal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Episcopal</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Worship" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Worship</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/PriestLife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PriestLife</span></a></p>
ReverendRef<p>Don’t tell anyone, but I’m stealing my <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Lent5" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Lent5</span></a> sermon from three years ago to use again this year. It’ll need some tweaks, but I like it, and nobody here has heard it.<br><a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Episcopal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Episcopal</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/SLECBuffalo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SLECBuffalo</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Recycling" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Recycling</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/NotStealing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NotStealing</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/PriestLife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PriestLife</span></a></p>

ReverendRef<p>I am not the world’s most spatially adept guy. Because of that, I just spent a much longer time than necessary mapping out the procession for the <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/GreatLitany" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GreatLitany</span></a> this coming Sunday.<br><a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Liturgy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Liturgy</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/SLECBuffalo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SLECBuffalo</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Worship" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Worship</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/PriestLife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PriestLife</span></a></p>
ReverendRef<p>We don’t have a max capacity sign in our parish hall, and we’re thinking about having an event. We called the fire marshal to come and let us know what our maxcap is. He came yesterday. Today my junior warden presented me with a report detailing 7 violations, a failed inspection, and a requirement to get up to code.<br><a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Dammit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Dammit</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Needed" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Needed</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Oops" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Oops</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/PriestLife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PriestLife</span></a></p>
ReverendRef<p>Yesterday I had a sound guy come buy and look at our system. The short story is we have to live with what we’ve got. It’s not bad, just not ideal. A longer story involves moving our single speaker further away from the congregation. And a longer, more expensive story involves doing more work to an already ok system.<br>The good news is that our online services are decent (although there is an interesting pixelation going on).<br><a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Episcopal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Episcopal</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/NeverPerfect" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NeverPerfect</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/SLECBufallo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SLECBufallo</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/PriestLife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PriestLife</span></a></p>
ReverendRef<p>Today is a little-of-everything day. Most it has been taken up in meeting with a sound guy to help our audio situation. <br>Bad news: we really can’t run the new system through the old (which would have been amazing).<br>Decent news: our single speaker isn’t as bad as I thought, so we can tweak that a bit.<br><a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Episcopal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Episcopal</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/ThingsSeminaryDidntCover" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ThingsSeminaryDidntCover</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/PriestLife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PriestLife</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/SLECBuffalo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SLECBuffalo</span></a></p>
ReverendRef<p>I arrived at <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/SLECBuffalo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SLECBuffalo</span></a> on Nov. 1, 2023.<br>On Jan. 3, 2024 I found a letter on my desk from our organist saying, “I quit.” (It was a little longer, but that was the essence). Ever since then we’ve been using a digital hymnal thing attached to the organ. It’s difficult to use, time consuming, and doesn’t produce the best music. <br>I convinced the Vestry to purchase another digital hymnal that I used 15-20 years ago. We got some funds to help, and it arrived last week. This one is so much better in all ways; so much so that I spent yesterday afternoon loading in all our music from Lent 3 to Easter 7.<br>Now we need a better speaker.<br><a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Episcopal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Episcopal</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/PriestLife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PriestLife</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/GettingBetter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GettingBetter</span></a></p>
ReverendRef<p>It’s Tuesday. The rest of my week is slammed with 7:00 worship, parishioner visitations, Noon <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/StationsOfTheCross" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StationsOfTheCross</span></a> (live-streamed at Noon mountain time), the first Lenten soup supper, a zoom meeting, a local ministerial meeting, and I still need to write a sermon.<br><a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Episcopal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Episcopal</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/PriestLife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PriestLife</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Lent" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Lent</span></a></p>
ReverendRef<p>It’s <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/AshWednesday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AshWednesday</span></a> and I have a lull in the day.<br>In general: <br>3 services (7:00 am, Noon, &amp; 6:00 pm)<br>6 personal visits which included 5 people wanting ashes.<br>1 brief meeting with Foundation members to accept a grant check and give a quick tour of the Food Pantry.<br>Oh, it’s also <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/BarWeek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BarWeek</span></a>, so I’m going to get a burger when this is all over.<br><a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Episcopal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Episcopal</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/PriestLife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PriestLife</span></a></p>
ReverendRef<p>Mrs. Ref and I attended a fundraiser dinner for the local HS band last night. We have a couple of YG kids in the music program, so it was good. Sitting next to their dad, he said, “I’m not allowed to speak to A in public,” as she walked by to perform.<br>I said, “Well I paid good money to heckle her,” and chanted her name rather loudly.<br>Mom and dad both laughed. She gave me the teenage eye-roll of death.<br>Mission Accomplished.<br><a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/PriestLife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PriestLife</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/EmbarassingAdults" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EmbarassingAdults</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/FunTimes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FunTimes</span></a></p>
ReverendRef<p>I have a special needs person who’s an acolyte at the first service. She does things fine, but getting her to do things differently or in a new way is a challenge, so I tend to let a lot slide.<br>Today we had a small issue with the wine cruet, and in trying to get it turned around, I set it down on the altar and it urped up wine onto the fair linen. And now I need to apologize to the Altar Guild for making a mess.<br><a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Episcopal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Episcopal</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Oops" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Oops</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/PriestLife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PriestLife</span></a> <a href="https://episcodon.net/tags/Patience" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Patience</span></a></p>

𝔽𝕒𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣 ℙ𝕒𝕥 🥊🇻🇦<p>Whenever I have Mass at one of the local nursing homes, I like to tell the staff, "I'm going to go wake the residents up." Today, though, was a special privilege as it is the memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes, and thus the World Day of the Sick. So, in addition to Mass, I gave them all the Anointing of the Sick. There were a few looks of real joy and peace on some of their faces. God is so good!<br><a href="https://social.boxingpreacher.net/tags/priestlife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>priestlife</span></a> <a href="https://social.boxingpreacher.net/tags/nursinghomeministry" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>nursinghomeministry</span></a> <a href="https://social.boxingpreacher.net/tags/ourladyoflourdes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ourladyoflourdes</span></a> <a href="https://social.boxingpreacher.net/tags/worlddayofthesick" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>worlddayofthesick</span></a></p>
