In Zeiten wie diesen diese Doppelbiografie über zwei Protagonisten der Widerstandsgruppe <a href="https://pixelfed.de/discover/tags/WeißeRose?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#WeißeRose</a> zu lektorieren, fühlte sich für die Lektorin besonders bedeutsam an. In der Erinnerung an die Münchner Widerstandsgruppe der Weißen Rose stehen heute Hans und Sophie Scholl im Zentrum. Ihre Mitstreiter werden vielfach nur unzureichend gewürdigt. Wer sich mit der Geschichte der Weißen Rose und insbesondere den Lebenswegen aller Beteiligten näher befasst, stellt jedoch eine Vielzahl von Beziehungen, Verflechtungen und Gemeinsamkeiten fest. Bei Alexander Schmorell und Christoph Probst ist es kaum möglich, sich dem einen zu nähern, ohne den anderen ausführlich zu würdigen. Zu viel haben sie in ihrem kurzen Leben gemeinsam unternommen und gedacht, als dass ihre Geschichte jeweils einzeln erzählt werden sollte. Vielmehr ist es folgerichtig, ihre Lebenswege in einer politischen Doppelbiografie zu verfolgen. Zwar werden die Herkunft und frühe Jugend für beide separat nachgezeichnet, doch waren ihre Leben ab 1935 derart miteinander verwoben, dass es genau in dieser Verflochtenheit dargestellt werden soll.
