PetraNot very exciting to look at I know, but the slab is down for our new air sourced heat pump...<a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/airsource?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#airsource</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/heatpump?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#heatpump</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/greenerenergy?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#greenerenergy</a>

Not perfect. I’ve lived with mine since 2013. Does not cope well with extreme cold. Takes a lot of maintenance &amp; adjusting. And underfloor heating is essential. And ultimately they need replacing after 10-15 years, like any heating system. I won’t get a grant for that and I won’t be able to afford it. <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-64710225" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">bbc.co.uk/news/science-environ</span><span class="invisible">ment-64710225</span></a></p>

I'll definitely look at <a href="https://home.social/tags/AirSource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AirSource</span></a> again. I didn't realise the techonlogy was catching up. My <a href="https://home.social/tags/SolarElectricity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SolarElectricity</span></a> story last year was a revelation. In March I turned off my 400W computer server which accounted for 75% of my electricity usage &amp; in June stopped charging from grid overnight as pricing became disadvantageous. The ~2400 kWh of electricity I can't store &amp; export would be enough to drive an EV for 12,000 km. I still need 2nd hand EV costs to fall to afford one.</p>
