Hmmm. Something is up with my spunding valve. It’s reading zero, but gas is clearly passing through. Maybe I cooked it trying to calibrate it. Though if I manual
Check it is seems to be doing the right thing. Annoying.
Though it is still auto purging the keg, so it’s not all bad.

Ran out of the roasted beans from a roaster in Ashland, KY, so I decided to boldly go where I've never been before in the #coffee selection at the local grocery store: the flavored stuff.
I picked the first thing that caught my eye: #IHOP Vanilla Cupcake. The impression while it was on the shelf was "I bet this will be buyers remorse."
Opening the bag was interesting - a strong smell of both sugar and coffee.
I'm a fan of #PourOver #brewing and the smell amplified to coffee and hot cupcakes fresh out of the oven.
I added a spoonful of #agave and a splash of #oatmilk. It's not bad. I'll give it a 4/5 (best piping hot).
Today's second #Coffee was first #brew of Ethiopian gesha from Wes Ngopi, almost 4 weeks off the roast.
A bright and floral cup which expresses itself lot better when slightly cooled down. Need to play more with #brewing variables :)

First beer homebrew on. Its hot here so the tap water was 27° (81°F) so had to add plenty of chilled water
Tomorrow should be cooler so I think today was the pick of somewhat "stable" temperatures. Pre-fermentation began at 21° and is now 22-22.5° with the AC cranking. If it peaks tomorrow at around 27° so be it — at least bottling has a good chance to fall on a weekend in two weeks
(Range 21-27 C is 70-81⁰F)
I think I've hit the point again where I'm just gonna go back to #singleplayer or #acrossthetable games ...

#magic how I have missed you ...
It's either #brewing time, or #tcgplayer #seller time..
So, I never did a proper #introduction because I am not in to those things, but after browsing the hashtag for few days I decided that maybe this is the time to make my own post.
So I am guy in 20's and mainly interested in #homebrewing #brewing and #cycling
More specifically I started brewing my own #beer when I was 15, because it was the easiest way to get alcohol at that time. It became my hobby, I moved to #cider only because I couldn't get decent one in store. And after that I worked in #craftbeer brewery.
As for #cycling I am interested in #bikepacking #biketouring #commuterbike and more of a utilitarian cycling. Right now I am touring through Europe on my bike and because I don't have anything other to do I will be doing that for about 6 months.
Sometimes I post in Czech, sometimes in English and I also repost from #lemmy where I moderate @homebrewing
#introduction I'm a generalist gladly busy with a bit of everything, with in mind, hands and heart: #autonomy and #community building.
Here to #escalate.
I work with #food transformation, #plants and #fermentation, and I love #brewing beer and #cooking for a lot of people. Sometimes I share workshops and teachings.

I like to #fast, #hike, and gather friends around it.
I like #systems and #routines. Convinced fellow and fan of #GTD.
Staring at a #fire is a good medicine. Sustaining the one in my heart and my comrades also. #internationalism makes me melt.
I like weird shit and embracing my inner #weirdo
I absolutely love this malt bill and hops.
I use it for my California Common but recently swapped the local ale malt to Maris Otter and used an ale yeast. Also outstanding.
Last week I bottled half the braggot and today I've bottled the rest. It ended up being 1010 FG and 6.5% alcohol.
Braggot is a old drink that is between beer and mead. I found it in a authentic viking cookery book. I do viking renactment so that is why I was interested in doing it. It tastes okay, I made 12 750ml bottles in total and one 1L bottle.
Was worried about the sediment but settled quick.
For those in the US and have the frame of reference…because of the grapefruit juice this tastes a bit like diluted Squirt with hops. I’m definitely going to put at least three cups of grapefruit juice in next time. Squirt was my favorite soft drink and I never thought to try to recreate it, much less “improve” upon it.
I have found my ultimate non-alcoholic drink other than water.
Hmmm…. Apple flavored beer. Is that a thing? I should check. I should try making some. I guess the apple might ferment to apple cider vinegar, but what if you add it to the bottle instead of the wort/fermentation steps? And no, I’m not talking about hard apple cider.
'Molson Coors CEO Gavin Hattersley reportedly declined but told the family the company is “fully committed to the Leinenkugel’s brand.”
'The Leinenkugel brothers said in a statement this week “true commitment must include preserving the Chippewa Falls brewery and the livelihoods of those who depend on it.” Fifty-six people will lose their jobs when the brewery closes Friday.'

I’m thinking to try to make hop water. Never tried a commercial version so don’t have a point of reference, but the idea of sparkling, slightly hoppy water is appealing.
I did do a water kefir with some hop tea once and it didn’t really work - I didn’t get it hoppy enough
Brülosophy and More Beer articles seems to have some good ideas.
Anyone else tried making this and have any pointers?
Also thinking to make a hop tea and mix that with Japanese cold barley tea.
