bundeskater - Marcel Gierth(English below) Guten Abend meine lieben Lebensformen, heute war ein guter Vogeltag. Es fällt mir gar nicht leicht was ich zeigen soll. Ich hab mich für diesen Steinwälzer mit einer juvenilen (vermutlich) Mittelmeermöwe entschieden. Da fällt erstmal auf wie klein die Steinwälzer eigentlich sind. Ich würd sie ja Tangbuddler nennen. Zumindest den hier. Tiere sind Freunde und kein Essen oder eine Plage. Bleibt gesund, glücklich und verliebt.  Der schlimmste Seelenschmerz ist das Fernweh. I went for this ruddy turnstone with a juvenile (presumably) Yellow-legged Gull. The first thing you notice is how small the turnstones actually are. I would call them seaweed diggers. bundeskater - Marcel GierthHallo meine lieben Lebensformen, Auf Fuerteventura sind das ganze Jahr über Schmutzgeier (es ist eine eigene Unterart) zu sehen. Auf dem europäischen Festland sind sie (überwiegend auf der iberischen Halbinsel) Sommergäste. Leider sind die Bestände auf dem europäischen Festland rückläufig, auf Fuerteventura Dank des Schutzes aber nicht. Dort steigen die Zahlen. Der dunkle ist ein Jungvogel, erst ab dem vierten Jahr sind sie hell. Alle drei Geier sind beringt. Tiere sind Freunde und kein Essen oder eine Plage. On the European mainland they are summer visitors (mainly on the Iberian Peninsula). Unfortunately, populations are declining on the European mainland, but not on Fuerteventura thanks to protection. Numbers are increasing there. The dark one is a young bird, they are only light in colour from the fourth year onwards. All three vultures are ringed. Animals are friends, not food or a nuisance. Habe aber heute dafür einen Raubwürger fotografieren können. Die sind echt garstige Models. Aber wer schon Raubwürger hheißt möchte natürlich nicht fotografiert werden, verständlich. Heute wollte ich eigentlich Fotos vom Wiedehopf machen, es hat sich aber keiner gezeigt, so bin ich dann nochmal zu den Kuhreihern. Und da hat es mir besonders dieser Teenager angetan. Er ist immer auf den Bürgersteig, wenn keiner gekommen ist und hat ein wenig dusselig geschaut und ist dann immer wieder schnell zurück auf die Wiese. Today I actually wanted to take photos of the hoopoe, but none showed up, so I went back to the cattle egrets. And I was particularly taken with this teenager. He always came out onto the pavement when no one was around, looked a bit silly and then quickly returned to the meadow. Animals are friends, not food or a nuisance. bundeskater - Marcel GierthHallo meine lieben fliegenden und nichtfliegenden Lebensformen, ich freu mich ja, wenn ich an Orte zurück komme und die Vögel vom letzten Jahr sind auch noch da / auch wieder da. Über diese Kuhreiher an der Strandpromenade vom Morro Jable hab ich mich schon letztes Jahr gefreut. Sie fangen auch heuer wieder Fliegen auf dem Rasen. Und schon letztes Jahr hab ich mich über die Eltys geärgert, die ihre Kinder die Reihern jagen lassen. Wenn dann einer mal zurück pickert, sind die Tiere schuld, wie immer. Tiere sind Freunde und kein Essen oder eine Plage. Bleibt gesund, glücklich und verliebt.  Der schlimmste Seelenschmerz ist das Fernweh. M@rcel --------------------- Hello my dear flying and non-flying life forms, I'm happy when I come back to places and the birds from last year are still there / back again. I was delighted to see these cattle egrets on the beach promenade in Morro Jable last year. They are catching flies on the grass again this year. And last year I was already annoyed by the parents who let their children chase the herons. If one of them pecks back, it's the animals' fault, as always. Animals are friends, not food or a nuisance. Stay healthy, happy and in love.  The most terrible pain in the soul is wanderlust.
