Charles Gaba<p>Finally, in <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23WISCONSIN" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#WISCONSIN</a>, <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23WI01" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#WI01</a> Bryan Steil, <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23WI03" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#WI03</a> Derrick Van Orden &amp; <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23WI08" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#WI08</a> Tony Wied won by 10.2%, 2.8% and 14.4%. Over 450,000 Cheeseheads use <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23Medicaid/CHIP" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Medicaid/CHIP</a> (or "Badgercare"). That's 1 in 5 of them *without* ACA expansion.</p>
Charles Gaba<p><a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23VIRGINIA" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#VIRGINIA</a> has their STATE elections this November. Unfortunately they can't kick out <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23VA01" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#VA01</a> Robert Wittman, <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23VA02" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#VA02</a> Jennifer Kiggans or <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23VA05" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#VA05</a> John McGuire until NEXT year. They won by 12.8%, 3.8% and 15% respectively. Across the 3 districts over 470,000 Virginians love their <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23Medicaid/CHIP" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Medicaid/CHIP</a>, or ~20%.</p>
Charles Gaba<p>The Lone Star state has a lone Republican on the list: <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23TEXAS" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#TEXAS</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23TX15" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#TX15</a> Monica De La Cruz, who won by 14.2 points. Again, even without ACA expansion, over 164,000 Texans in her district have <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23Medicaid/CHIP" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Medicaid/CHIP</a> coverage. That's 20% of the entire population.</p>
Charles Gaba<p><a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23PENNSYLVANIA" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#PENNSYLVANIA</a> has 4 Republicans on the list: <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23PA01" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#PA01</a> Brian Fitzpatrick; <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23PA07" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#PA07</a> Ryan Mackenzie; <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23PA08" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#PA08</a> Robert Bresnahan &amp; <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23PA10" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#PA10</a> Scott Perry. Fitzpatrick won by 12.8%, but the others were in the low single digits: 1%, 1.6% &amp; 1.2%. Between them, 680K are on <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23Medicaid/CHIP" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Medicaid/CHIP</a>, or 22% of the total population.</p>
Charles Gaba<p>There are 2 <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23OHIO" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#OHIO</a> Republicans on the list: <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23OH07" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#OH07</a> Max Miller and <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23OH15" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#OH15</a> Mike Carey. They won by 15% and 13.2% respectively...at the outer edges of flippability. Over 300,000 Buckeyes rely on <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23Medicaid/CHIP" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Medicaid/CHIP</a> between these 2 districts, or nearly 1 in 5. people.</p>
Charles Gaba<p>In <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23NORTHCAROLINA" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#NORTHCAROLINA</a> there's only one Republican on the list: <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23NC11" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#NC11</a> Chuck Edwards won by 13.6 points in November. Over 206,000 residents of his district rely on <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23Medicaid/CHIP" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Medicaid/CHIP</a>, or 26% of the total population. (NC is the first state where I'm using an expanded graphic format w/more details)</p>
Charles Gaba<p>Two of the Republicans on this list represent <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23NEWYORK" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#NEWYORK</a>: Nick LaLota in <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23NY01" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#NY01</a> and Michael Lawler in <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23NY17" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#NY17</a>. They won by 10.4% and 6.3% respectively. Combined, over 345,000 New Yorkers are enrolled in <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23Medicaid/CHIP" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Medicaid/CHIP</a> in their districts, or 22%.</p>
Charles Gaba<p>Moving on to <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23NEWJERSEY" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#NEWJERSEY</a>, where <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23NJ07" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#NJ07</a> Tom Kean Jr. won by 5.4 points. "Only" 68,000 people, or 8.6% of his constituents, are enrolled in <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23Medicaid/CHIP" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Medicaid/CHIP</a>, but they probably won't be too "kean" to have their healthcare coverage stripped away.</p>
Charles Gaba<p><a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23NEBRASKA" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#NEBRASKA</a> Congressman Don Bacon ( <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23NE02" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#NE02</a>) won his seat by just 1.8% in November. 111,000 residents in his district rely on <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23Medicaid/CHIP" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Medicaid/CHIP</a>, or nearly 17%.</p>
Charles Gaba<p>In <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23MONTANA" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#MONTANA</a>, <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23MT01" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#MT01</a> Ryan Zinke won by 7.7 points. Nearly 113,000 of his constituents are on <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23Medicaid/CHIP" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Medicaid/CHIP</a>, or around 20% of them.</p>
Charles Gaba<p><a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23MISSOURI%27s" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#MISSOURI's</a> Ann Wagner <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23MO02" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#MO02</a> won by 12% last fall. That's a tough hill to climb, but she just voted to screw over up to 10% of her constituents who rely on <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23Medicaid/CHIP" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Medicaid/CHIP</a>.</p>
Charles Gaba<p>Here in my home state of <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23MICHIGAN" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#MICHIGAN</a>, <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23MI04" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#MI04</a> BIll Huizenga, <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23MI07" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#MI07</a> Tom Barrett &amp; <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23MI10" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#MI10</a> John James won by 11.7%, 3.7% &amp; 6.1% respectively. John James abandoned his district months ago to run for Governor. Across these districts over 450,000 Michiganders rely on <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23Medicaid/CHIP" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Medicaid/CHIP</a>. That's 1 in 5 residents.</p>

Between their districts, 335,000 Iowans rely on <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23Medicaid/CHIP" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Medicaid/CHIP</a>, or over 20% of the total population.</p>

Across their districts, even without having expanded Medicaid under the ACA, over 530,000 residents rely on <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23medicaid/CHIP" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#medicaid/CHIP</a>, or 16% of their total population.</p>

Valadao is the only one who voted no. His graph makes it clear why. Across their districts, over a MILLION CALIFORNIANS are enrolled in <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23Medicaid/CHIP" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Medicaid/CHIP</a>.</p>

Charles Gaba<p>🚨 There are 32 House Republicans who won by 15 points or less last November. 31 of them just voted to gut <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23Medicaid/CHIP" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Medicaid/CHIP</a> &amp; <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23SNAP" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#SNAP</a> along w/other critical programs. In <a class="hashtag" href="https://bsky.app/search?q=%23ALASKA" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#ALASKA</a>, Nick Begich won by just 2.0%. 250,000 Alaskans, or over 33% of the total population, depend on Medicaid/CHIP.</p>
