Michael MartenEntrance to a woodland - English Peak District. This was my first successful 4x5 photograph, on Provia 100F. It was made on a day workshop with Tim Parkin and Dav Thomas, and having been bitten by the LF bug from that one day, I have continued to use it - and even now, after about 4 or 5 years of minimal LF photography (just starting to make LF images again), I still think of LF as my default format. Michael MartenField of dreams, North Uist.My first time in North Uist was a very short stop of a few hours waiting for ferry connections to align. I wandered off and was completely captivated by this wild flower meadow with the gentle curving land, and for several years, this is how I saw North Uist in my mind. I later went back and spent more time there, and this image continues to resonate with me: the gentle shapes and colour palette.
