Entomology never fails to surprise. We found this metallic Phanolinus rove beetle in an Ecuadorian cloud forest.

Our most colorful rove beetles here are Paederus species. None of them challenges this beauty 
Apart from that, its body shapes pretty much like a Philonthus.
Beautiful.
My instinct is till to whack it with a shoe... but it's so pretty I might reconsider before doing that.
