2022 has brought some bad luck (infected with Covid 3 times, car stolen 3 times, now without cars) but also some great non academic reads I have enjoyed and loved. In a purely chronological order:
- Medicine Walk by Richard Wagamese
- Last Things and Dept. of Speculation by Jenny Offill
- Fight Night by Miriam Toews
Btw, we happily survived without a car for 9 months, renting one when we really needed it. So probably time to reconsider!
@giovannamas sorry to hear about the bad luck! I'm taking notes about non-acad books though I don't read fiction in English, so I'll wait for PT
@anajorge I read them in Italian, so perhaps available in Portuguese as well?
@giovannamas or soon enough. I've added them to my Goodreads wishlist :)
@giovannamas I just finished Yoga by Emmanuel Carrère, I really enjoyed it!
@anajorge thanks for the recommendation!
