Combine with this excellent interview with Noel Gallagher on TalkSPORT recently where he talks in depth about City (the bit starting at 1:35 in particular).

There are other videos in this interview. I'll drop those links below

Other clips in that fascinating interview with Noel Gallagher. I always love to hear him talk about City and football in general. He's a knowledgable fan with nuanced understanding of the game, imo.

Something Noel mentioned several times: it'll take 10 years.
He was talking about getting to a place where you can take winning the Champion's League seriously. A real contender, not just a fluky run. This is how long it took City to get there with SERIOUS football people running the club from top to bottom with a long-term vision.
He mentioned the 10 years figure in regards to Newcastle and United, but it applies to Spurs too. Arsenal further in. Chelsea?

@hallenbeck 10 years sounds about right, granted Spurs continue to hire the right decision makers and that Levy himself is willing to invest to make the squad stronger every year.
@paulk_ Ange will be 68 in ten years. Will he stay with us for that long? Could it be the crowning glory of his career to win the Champion's League? Just got to have faith I suppose. A lot can go wrong, and many have said Ange doesn't stick around for long. But perhaps that's because he was always moving towards the Premier League and now that he's here, he's hungry to leave his mark on the league he and his dad loved to watch together in the middle of the night.
@hallenbeck exactly right, everything he’s achieved so far in the game leads him to what he is seeing out now. He won’t stop because he can already see the end game, he can already envision what success looks like and he’s been able to do that with every team he’s ever managed. If it takes 10 years, then I guess it takes 10 years.
@paulk_ If this truly is his end game, it looks like a real blessing to get such a determined, intelligent, and wise man to takes us on this journey.
Maybe, just maybe, this is the stroke of luck we needed (in addition to the intentional improvements required as well).
@hallenbeck @coys @spurs I think we were starting under Porch, but then the stadium took all the energy. Although I think the foundation is much more solid with the new stadium, so ...
Yes, for sure, Poch was the real deal and Levy should not have sacked him. The Stadium has been a huge distraction (then Covid right after it opened), but I understand from a business perspective why it was needed. It could be seen as a masterstroke once the regulator comes in and FFP rules are actually upheld. The need for a sustainable and diverse income at clubs at the top is important.
But for me Levy handled it all badly, including those 3 managers after Poch.
