Uproar in ZeroCovid land. "Sars-CoV-2 has devastating effects on children". It is so bad that the CDC quietly changed the milestones for child development monitoring.....

The image comes from this webpage https://www.bebe-pt.com/blog/musings-about-milestones
The explanation? Milestones have not been updated since the 1960s! many aspects of child-rearing have changed since then, most notably the very important Back to Sleep Campaign initiated in the 90’s to combat SIDS.

These conditions affect many developmental milestones, including head control, rolling and sitting. With babies spending more time on their backs, and less time on their tummy, development is impacted.

In 2022 the CDC milestones were updated to reflect when the vast majority of babies meet certain milestones—most notably, walking was pushed back from a 12-month skill to an 18-month skill, and crawling was removed completely.
Sure, not everyone likes it: pros and cons.

As the site informs:
-Milestone anxiety is real!
-Using milestones to identify delays or concerns early is crucial.
-However, milestones are commonly outdated and vary depending on the baby—use them as a guide, not a checklist.

For the comprehensive CDC checklist (note walking is included at 12 months, this is an indication for about 75% of children; each has their own schedule. If you are concerned: talk to your paediatrician):

Oh, anything to do with SARS-CoV-2 and panic about COVID and child development?
No, of course not. Antivax will blame all on vaccines, ZC will blame all on SC2, without any evidence.
