I'm so old, my Megadrive came with Altered Beast

@DoctorMad speaking as someone who is younger than the Genesis: how is Altered Beast? I've only really put a few minutes into it and didn't quite get it.

It's cheesy fun and an arcade classic you can finish in 10 minutes with some interesting art style and game concepts. Basically: kick & punch the baddies as fast as you can, pick up the blue spheres so you can transform in an 'Altered Beast' and then the fun doubles when you become near-invincible. </1>

Back in the day it turned quite a few (young) heads as it was an impressive arcade-to-console port. Something SEGA sure advertised for it's blazingly fast machine.
Also, it's the game that preceded Golden Axe (by the same team), so 'retro-historically' quite important.
Play it on any potato and enjoy!
