well, thats kind of surprising. i guess google has exposed the running on my phone. 🤯 🤓

shown: google's "terminal" app.

perhaps most importantly... now my phone is useful! 😏

@Mumonkan It used to be relatively easy to install a sidecar Debian on Android back in the day before whatever lockdown they started with Pixels. I somehow got Eclipse running on an android, maybe Nexus 6? It was useless, even vim was pretty useless TBH, but mind-blowing that it was possible. I would think it'd be pretty usable on modern hardware though. There is always some deal breaker with keyboard modifier/Fkey support, but maybe not with the original base

@Mumonkan not that Eclipse is still usefull...

@novaterata yeah, i am not exactly sure what i would do with this. ssh somewhere? (i could already do that.)

probably most useful would be if more devices were supported, in order to put some old android phones to better use. but i doubt google with bother with supporting all the junked phones i have saved up. haha

@Mumonkan That is GNU bash on a chroot of a GNU system.

Debian's version of the kernel, Linux is not in use - Android's version of Linux is in use.

@Suiseiseki indeed! i stand corrected. i dont really expect much camaraderie from google.
