We are trying to learn how much corporate money two charitable organizations have received in the past. One is US-based, the other UK-based.

Is there anyone who can help us with this? Both organizations are not very cooperative to provide us with this information.

@Steve Yes, for the US-based one we did. I'd like to have a second person look at it to make sure we don't mix up private donations/membership with corporate donations. Do you know to what level they are obliged to provide details on which company donated how much?

@cowboycatranch on the US, tbk there's no difference between a corporate donation and an individual donation. It used to be that major donors ($5000+/yr) required disclosure. However, in 2021 federal courts, extending a 2019 decision, ruled disclosure of donor names were not mandatory.
@cowboycatranch this is why you typically need to look towards board connections and histories of relationships.

@Steve You think data from pre-2021 would still allow us to find this information? I'll have a look at the 990 form from 2020.

@cowboycatranch it should for major donors; however, a lot of the specific reporting requirements varied state by state. You should cross reference State fillings with federal as well as relationships between organizations. Hiding certain types of donors is typically among more questionable organization
