Friday, 5:00 pm. Storm front moving away to the northeast. This particular storm strengthened as it continued, eventually causing hail and wind damage. This was a part of the massive system that marched across the US on Friday and Saturday.

Blinding dust storms in Kansas and NW Texas caused several of the fatalities on Friday.

The scant rain that we received in SW Iowa left a residue of the reddish dust from those areas hundreds of miles away.
