I’ve read many of the survivors’ accounts (Primo Levi’s ‘Survival in Auschwitz’ is an excellent starting point; Stefan Zweig’s ‘The World of Yesterday’ is a peerless portrait of the socio-political era).
I have visited Auschwitz to witness personally the residue of the evil of which humanity is capable.
We seem never to learn. Hatred has no borders.
