It seems that for many entries @european_alternatives uses labels like “EU hosted” or “EFTA hosted” to indicate where a service is hosted. See e.g. https://european-alternatives.eu/category/web-analytics-services
In case you want to do more checks (e.g. where the business mail of a company that offers a service you are interested in is hosted) https://hosting-checker.net/, that is built by the same maker, might be useful.

But go to Plausible and you will see they use Hey.com for email (US based and associated with DHH - a big no-no). Your website event might be safe, but you can’t use their support without leaking data.

Regarding the Plausible example: yes, also visible on https://hosting-checker.net/websites/plausible.io. It would be nice if @european_alternatives also included the results of hosting-checker.net.
