Never let a child name your pet. Dog decided recall was optional yesterday and I had to run through the park yelling "Beep-Beep!"
@rexxdeane@mastodon.online@fesshole Dogs' names also aren't commands. They have literally no idea what they're supposed to do when you shout just their name. More people need to watch Dogs Behaving Badly.
It's all down to the owners having no clue.
@rexxdeane plus dogs just don’t understand human words, so it doesn’t matter what’s called out.
@Strwpok they know how to respond once trained. But screaming 'Toby!' isn't an instruction, whereas 'Toby, come!' is. Shouting with more agitation just excites them. Poor sod wouldn't know what to do.
