Yes folks, the streaming wild west is over now.
The streamers trying to spend each other into extinctions didn't work and now you have to have a plan for all that money that's being spent. Which is why everyone is pulling back. Not because of the Writer's strike.
@virtualbri yuuup. Amd also why they are continually jacking up the non-ad subscriptions. They want everyone to convert to ad supported as they make *waaay* more money that way.
@octothorpe @virtualbri I liked Netflix when it allowed me to catch up on things I hadn't seen, allowed me lots of international content. Their movie-making was paying A listers tons of money to star in maybe B movies (the ones I saw).
It was so stupid. People were shocked when WB canned their Batgirl film for a tax write off rather than release it.
It had a budget of like $90 million and I couldn't believe they made it in the first place.
A one off movie... what? Do you think people are going to subscribe and STAY SUBSCRIBED to your service because of one movie? It wouldn't have been enough to get a lot of them in the door
Streaming was dead before it got going for 90% of the services.
