Just tried to add a few large sites, to my #FeedReader only to discover that no feeds were available... most annoying!
Some of my friends have just given up on following the #news, and I don't blame them. It can be pretty depressing right now.
But for me, what keeps me up-to-date-enough but stops me #doomScrolling is to lean on my good old #feedReader (coupled with a little discipline to not glance at the news every time I remember my phone's in my pocket)!
I read the news once, maybe twice, most days, as a bundled digest of mildly-filtered articles. Like taking the time to sit down with a newspaper... but no other interruptions.
It keeps me optimistic enough that I can still focus on the causes I care about the most, without getting bogged down in all the depressing news about nazis burning the world that I'd see otherwise. Highly recommended.
Today I implemented a very nifty feature. A way to match subscriptions between BlogCat and any third-party feed reader.
Basically, using an OPML exported from your third-party app. BlogCat will figure out which sites are missing betweem them both and allow you to subscribe to the missing site and also generate another OPML for the other app to match its own subscription list.
Check the video, it is pretty cool.
Boosts appreciated <3
Anyone know of a good #RSS #FeedReader and #ReadLater combo app for Android and/or web? Thanks

adding tags to BlogCat. Clearly copied from FraidyCat.
A feed can have more than one tag, the navigation menu shows all the tags.
Really enjoying this feed reader, it is already my daily driver. Didn't believe it would replace my previous choices so fast.
Added some really cool features to #blogcat today.
You can customise how the app opens YouTube links. It can open them in YouTube, or a simpler page without comments or even a custom front-end of your own choice.

I hear a lot of people talking about RSS lately, and that's great! But it's not the only game in town. There is also Atom. Atom is very similar in concept to RSS, but added additional features. It never quite caught on because feeds in general started getting replaced with Web 2.0 walled gardens and things like Reddit at about the same time it came out.
But now with a renewed interest in feed readers, hopefully people will remember it and give it the chance it never got
New at Haiku, Alligator 24.12.2, a slim Kirigami based RSS feed reader, this one doesn't use QtWebEngine and therefor could be ported over to Haiku with the KDE 6 frameworks.
Enjoy!

Artfeed is a #rss feed reader designed for artists and #photographers . It lets you follow an artist's work wherever they publish it: their site, flickr, tumblr, Pixelfed or mastodon...
I look forward to your feedback
Has someone figured out a way to connect my #NextCloudNews with #Thunderbird? (I know I can just export the #OPML, but I'd like to have read status synchronised)

Actually, I think #RSSparrot https://rss-parrot.net/ is more what I was after - a way to follow accounts, stay abreast of news and opinions not yet well-represented on Mastodon (or I haven't found them yet).
For now, not ready to post to Bluesky until I see how the bridge behaves (by comparing feeds of bridged accounts, I guess).
I have to say I don't love the look of bsky on my desktop - it's too twitter-like, in yer face.
Hmmm...

My last project is ready !
Remember : it's a RSS/Atom #feedreader for images and #photography
The #comingsoon page is here : https://artfeed.org/
I've been working the whole week, now everything is ready, and I'll start sending invitations on Monday.
Hello #photographers,
For some time I've been working on a web app that allows you to follow photographers and their work through the #rss feeds of their sites, and other #photos platforms or social networks.
It's basically an rss reader, but designed for images.
I'm looking for first users who are interested in the concept and would like to try it out. If you're one of them and have Rss feeds to follow, contact me right here, I'm opening soon!
