The Crab Fleet

The crab fleet of Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. Behind the restaurants off of Jefferson Street is the pier where the crab fleet docks. Most folks don't even walk back here, they just walk down the street looking for cheap trinkets and some fresh crab.
Back here behind the restaurants and the gift shop are where the boats dock after a long days work.

The Crab Fleet This is an image of the crab fleet that catch all the crabs sold at Fisherman's Wharf off of Jefferson Street in San Francisco. The foreground of the image is the glass like surface of the San Francisco Bay. The water is so smooth that it acts as almost a perfect mirror. The boats bows are reflected onto the waters surface with hardly a ripple. The fishing boats are all very similar looking but all are different in one way or another. The cabins might have different windows and the paint on the trim is very colorful from blue, red, yellow and beyond.

Fishing Boats at Fisherman's Wharf

The colorful boats are part of the fleet of boats that bring fresh seafood to San Francisco's world-renowned Fisherman's Wharf.
Jefferson Street is the street where most of the shops are. But if you go behind the restaurants and walk along the bay you will see these boats docked as long as they are not out fishing.

Fishing Boats at Fisherman's Wharf This is an image of San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf located on the San Francisco Bay. More precisely, this is an image of the fishing boats that bring the fresh fish and crab to the wharf. Captured early in the morning the water is near perfectly still with hardly a ripple in the surface. The boats are all roughly the same shape and size. The differences though are small but many. The main hulls are all painted white. The bows can be shaped differently as well as the cabins, windows, and port holes. The trim of the boats are colorful and consist of blues, reds, greens, orange and other colors.
