FCC Chair Brendan Carr is targeting CBS, NBC, and ABC for so-called “bias against Trump.” Elon Musk and Marjorie Taylor Greene are loudly attacking PBS, NPR, and any media critical of Trump. Trump’s assault on the free press and open internet began in his first term when he relentlessly attacked the media and his admin undid Net Neutrality. Now, we need Congress to use their power to stop Trump’s information takeover. Musk has said he’s “gunning” for public media. He wrote, “Taxpayer money should not be used to fund propaganda” when referring to NPR — straight out of the Trump media playbook. Rep. Greene called for the heads of NPR and PBS to testify in front of her DOGE subcommittee. Trump’s war on the media paired with Musk’s drive to destroy public services is a dangerous combination.
