TanjaThe pattern for this beauty is called "Dandelion Lane" and the yarn I used reminded me of a Dandelion growing out of a street. Amazing little resilient plants! Also - the shawl has Glitter. TanjaOh, I almost forgot about this beauty! I used 2 Yarncakes and alternated them; I ended up using about 1824 m yarn. It's a pattern by a polish designer, essentially it's just charts and I was so proud that I managed to make it. Being able to read crochet charts opens up a whole new world beyond language barriers. I love it. <br> Pattern: Flower Meadow by Aleksandra Gryzik<br> Yarn: Hobbii Twister in Cactus Flower<br> <br> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/crochet?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#crochet</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/crochetart?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#crochetart</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/crochetartist?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#crochetartist</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/crochetaccessories?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#crochetaccessories</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/häkeln?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#häkeln</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/handmade?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#handmade</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/crochetshawl?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#crochetshawl</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/shawl?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#shawl</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/gradient?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#gradient</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/gradientyarn?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#gradientyarn</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/yarn?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#yarn</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/fiber?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#fiber</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/fiberarts?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#fiberarts</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/fiberartist?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#fiberartist</a>

Forgot to take progress pictures for #wipwednesday , that's why you get a crappy 5am-before-leaving-for-work picture.
This pattern is a pure variation of SC stitches. I can't work too long on it because quite honestly, SC stitches bore me, that's why I am normally drawn to the complex lacy patterns. Nevertheless... the braiding for this one is very cleverly constructed. I'm using my Cthulu Advent 2024 Krakenyarns handdyed yarn and it's really wonderful.

Before we dive into more hats, let's do #wipwednesday . I have a few WIPs going, but I'm rather intruiged with that one. LOTS of bobbles in many variations, so much structure. It's going to be spectacular. :-)

Here's another pattern I made several times from when I was a beginner to more advanced. It was also the first pattern I actually bought. In the beginning it was important to me that the patterns I used were free, as I really needed to learn and get a feeling for them. Nowadays I'm happy to pay for a well written pattern or chart. (in fact, I prefer charts now) In any case, this one being the first pattern I bought holds a special place in my heart and I should really make it again. :-)
The second picture shows a close up of the intricate pattern.

Lets visit some more projects made from hand dyed yarn. For me, it's always so much harder to find a suitable project in crochet for those beautiful Indie Yarns. They are usually also not as flamboyant as my preferred gradient-projects. But that's ok, I need the variety. This is the Meraki Shawl. The Designer added this description:
Meraki •Greek• may-rah-kee
(n.) when you put something of yourself into your work by adding soul, creativity and love
I love this!

During my crochet journey so far, I eventually came across those beautiful handdyed hanks of yarn. Every once in a while I cave and buy one, eventhough I then find it very hard to find a worthy project for those special yarns.

I think this was one of the first half circle shawls I attempted. And the one I kept for myself and which gets a lot of wear. (especially since I learned a couple of wrapping techniques). It's very soft and drapeable.

Memento Mori - Remember Death (or depending on which translation you prefer; Remember that you will die). And if you read the "Crescent City" series by Sarah J. Maas, you will remember this as well. I'm currently listening to the Audio Books again, seemed fitting to show this shawl.
One of my favourite shawls and one of the few I kept for myself and wear regularily.

Another shawl I made several times, because I liked the pattern. It's always fascinating how different they look in various yarns.

I like to re-visit patterns, to make them again in different colors, yarns and with different skill-levels.
The first one was the bottom left one, when I was just an adventurous beginner - and I struggled! Bottom right was the second one, about half a year later when I was a bit more experienced, already going better. And the top one in blue was another half year later when I considered myself advanced.

Pattern: Flower Valley Shawl by SisHomemade (free Ravelry Download)
Yarns: all three were made with different Hobbii Twister Cakes, at least two of them were from second choice bags.
