So yeah, we further broke my PC yesterday. It won't power on at all. But our friend is going to come over after work and see if he can sort it out. That would be very nice.
At least we managed to get my bank card to work with my laptop, so I was able to get through work. Not great because my laptop screen is only so big, and I couldn't be arsed to hook up my monitor, ha ha. I know, I know... but I'm sure some of y'all can appreciate how things belong in certain places and in certain uses, and that changing that is stressful.
So yeah, doing okay considering. Helps that spouse was waffling on getting delivery last night, so yanno, not going to disagree. It's rude to. xD Which meant a large beef chow mein last night, and another today; it's hard to be too upset with good food to hand.
Bleh, a day I'd been fearing finally arrived -- the day my desktop didn't want to boot up. I knew it was coming because both the power and reboot button had been getting increasingly dicey; power came through, but not booting. So that's offline right now, and I'm enjoying an unexpected work break. Yeah, my laptop refuses to recognise my bank card for some reason. Card works fine on my desktop, and my spouse's card works fine on my laptop, sooooo. ¬¬
(but on the bright side, I dusted my tower out since I had it open to look at the buttons, so that's always good)
So yeah, that happened.
Past that, just like, doing my best to chill and wondering when my back is going to stop being irritable. Probably never, let's be honest, ha ha. I mean, I've had back problems since I was a kid, but y'all know how it is with new and novel pains.
Time has gotten away from me today. But I got the work done I needed, ate a thing, and copiously rolled my eyes at the cruellness of our successive governments here in the UK. Spouse and I are lucky to be our own employer; with his Long Covid and my chronic fatigue, it would be very difficult for us to find someone else that would accommodate us.
(as always, I count all my blessings and am so grateful for them. my life is already on hard mode without having to deal with that boosheet)
*rubs face* anyways.
Whew, all the things! Spouse had an eye test today, so I had to drive him back. It was only 15 minutes, but I've not driven anywhere in a hot minute. But that went fine, we got home, I didn't manage to get us lost on familiar streets.
I also did a chase-up call on my missing Twizzlers. I finally got a person by calling on a weekday, so, good? I think they're sending a refund, but also looking to see what's up with the parcel. I mean, as long as candy or my money comes back, then that'll do me. Obviously, I'd prefer the candy to show up, ha ha.
Also showing up: that missing Etsy order, replacement version! The lass let me know this morning it had come through and that she was super happy with it, so, win. And honestly, if more show up for her, that's also fine by me! But also, I hope my lost package refund comes through... we'll see how that goes.
So yeah, all the adventures, and I am now completely worn out. Gonna flop, get more caffeine in me, and just like, exist.
((also, I realise I totally wrote a post yesterday and forgot to post it. Ah well))
New post from A Head Full of Wishes
My record collection: [232] Luna - Dear Diary (Jericho promo)
This is a one track promo of Dear Diary put out by Luna’s (then) new record company Jericho ahead of... #DearDiary #JerichoRecords #Luna #MyRecordCollection
Today in new thing I learned: A 1st class Royal Mail parcel is considered lost if it's not shown up in 10 working days. So I guess I filed a claim today, ha ha. I also sent out a replacement order to someone who bought stuff at the start of the month, and made sure to send it tracked this time. I normally don't, because my postage mainly comes compliments of the stash under the couch. You can't use stamps to pay for tracked, so. Hopefully the missing package shows up too, and also hopefully my lost parcel claim gets paid out. xD
But yeah, that's done, work is done, and I picked up discount pastry from the Post Office for lunch. So now back to putting together wee lil stitch markers, more caffeine, games, the usual. For the markers, I had been in progress with them earlier, just in time for the aforementioned lady with the order, so hers were freshly made and ready to go... only another 40 lil things to do. And then think about photos.
(photos are a pain because I don't seem to have the knack to photograph glass without. I should probably bug someone like @nora for advice >< but we'll also see if the lil lens hood helps with these tinysmol things)
But that's for later Raeyn to deal with. Now Raeyn can go la la la, ha ha.
Eh, I exist. That's about as far as I've gotten today. Well, I've gotten work-work done, and done another step on doing a few more sets of the needle reminder stitch markers (now with a few more colourways, to include white on darker options).
But yeah, mainly just feeling worn down. Not like, super bad, outside of my back aching for who knows what reason, but yeah. It is what it is.
Right. Probably should get my glue on and progress the stitch markers. Then... we'll see. I'm actually getting near the end of the first of my current pairs of socks, so that's something.
To some, this will be driving as usual. To me, this is another example that proves that some adults are stupidly dangerous. Basically, if a driver didn't keep a safe distance, relative to speed, from the vehicle in front, they wouldn't pass their learner driver test. & yet, in my experience whilst driving at 60 mph on a 60 mph (limit) single track road, a % of folk drive in a threatening, unsafe way, because they don't have the brains to keep a safe distance from the car in front
I'm starting to wonder if I'm coming down with something. I've got the burny brainfog again, and doing the stairs has been harder going than it should be. Which, rude, I take weird pride in how easily I trot up and down the things, so having my legs feel on the weaker side is just... well. As said, rude.
But ey, at least I don't need to leave the house or anything like that. I do have one chore I want to do upstairs as a tag-on from last week's decluttering; spouse and declutterer stacked a bunch of linens on my dresser rather than homing them properly. Which is fine! Homing them properly requires going into youngest's room to stash them in the built-in wardrobe, so it'll be better (easier?) if I get it done.
I've also got a self-imposed craft chore -- make some more of the hook reminder markers. I had an order for some at the start of the month that still haven't arrived in spite of going to the right address in the same country as me, so I want to make sure that I have replacements made and ready. Hopefully the ones she ordered shows up in the next couple of days, but I can appreciate her concern that it's been almost two weeks and nada.
Gotta finish this caffeine first... all praise caffeine. ><
