Our Podcast on Medical Aid in Dying (MAID)

HB140, End of Life Options, just passed in the #Delaware House and now has to go before the Senate and get the Governor's signature.

Rather than changing minds, Dr Varipapa switches the conversation to the important ethical concept of patient autonomy and choice as well as the primary concepts of MAID. Dr Vest provides a counterpoint to MAID.

Those who oppose MAID have concerns about the ‘slippery slope’, something which has not been demonstrated in Oregon or the other 10 states that permit MAID.

>> so it is working, then; just not for us...

>> So it's not so much #Keynes has been rejected, but rather it's only applicable when the rich are in trouble!

#Keynsian theory formed the underpinnings of #Reagan's obscene #TrickleDown theory in which the rich would reinvest money saved in taxes to drive growth.

#US has the rich getting richer while infrastructure like bridges and airports crumble, and services like #heathCare are only for those who can afford to pay.

Since the #election, we heard from a friend in #UK. She sent an excellent recommendation:

"I thought you'd be interested in the story of the founding father of one of our great British institutions (aside from the BBC) -

The National Theatre is showing this whole award-winning play for free. Last day to view is Monday, Nov. 11. Please watch. Its both entertaining and encouraging, and so much more than you might expect. Give it a chance.

The worse offenders were Alberta and Nova Scotia

Per capita, Canada's transfers for health

grew six times faster than population growth,

amounting to $1,115 per person in 2023, up from $427 per person in 2005.,

while spending in Nova Scotia and Alberta

grew less than two times as fast

as the population.

What does Donald Trump think about abortion?

Whatever gets him the most votes.

He once claimed he's pro-choice, but he's also bragged about killing Roe. He's also said women who get an abortion belong in prison.

#Heathcare in the USA is now a game show. Only a few appealing cases will be funded, so getting healthcare becomes a lottery where the winners play for sympathy and anyone who doesn't fit can f**k off and die, with the applause.

What happened America?

What's worse is this cancer is being spread through the ideologies that created it, and the West in particular is succumbing bit by bit to American anti-human "values".
