不精さや掻き起されし春の雨

A little calligraphy practise for tonight. =3 It's the text to "Akatonbo" (Red Dragonfly) by MIKI Rikū, set to music by YAMADA Kōsaku in the early 20th century. Today, "Akatonbo" is a well-known children's song (and art song!), nostalgic and bittersweet in character. https://helloprolyrics.fandom.com/wiki/Akatonbo
A draft of a poem done in small semi-cursive script, warts and all. Small characters are especially unforgiving, and semi-cursive isn't my specialty, but I'm hard at work climbing this particular hill anyway.

Desert Bus 2024, Day 7. (Yes, I did skip Day 6.)
A Night Watch Art Challenge for their Beyblades slogan, "If you love something, let it rip!"
In Japanese, the Beyblades anime uses "Go shoot!", so I translated this as「何かを好きならGO SHOOT」.
Sumi ink, watercolour, Japanese calligraphy brushes, watercolour brushes, Western broad nib pens, cold-press watercolour paper.
Just a little calligraphy practise. I found some old mulberry paper while doing some spring cleaning and thought I'd take it for a test drive. All the sheets have a slight crease, unfortunately.
父に「墓石の字を書いてくれ」って頼まれて練習するついでに、せっかく墨出したから臨書でもするか、って王羲之の奄至帖（えんしじょう）の臨書を始めたら、こっちの方が時間くってしまった。まあまあな感じなのでこれは今月提出しよ。
墓石の字は父にいくつか書体の下書きを送って決めてもらうところなので、清書はまた今度。
本日の一日一草書は「祈」 お手本は嵯峨天皇。
本日は娘っ子の中学受験日です。東京都内だと今日が受験日の学校が一番多いのかな。
普段の力を出しきれるよう、親は祈ることしかできません。がんばれがんばれ。
終わったら我慢してたこと全部やろうね。フリーレン大人買いとか、スーパー銭湯行くとか。
