Done and done.
From @stacy31.bsky.social:
A quick resistance task:
1. Google Gulf of Mexico
2. “Gulf of America" is the top
3. Click on the three little dots to the right of it
4. Select "Send Feedback"
5. Click on "Gulf Of America"
6. Select "Inaccurate content"
7. Select "Incorrect" and type in "The correct name is “Gulf of Mexico"

Bonus pts: do it for #Denali/#MtMcKinley too!
@tiamat271 Also texted the Gulf of Mexico error correction message to the family this morning.
One niece had already heard about it and had done it. Other folk indicated they will do it.
Also, a different niece reminded us to do the same if the idiots try to change 'Denali' back to 'Mt McKinley.'
@Jason844 oh I think that was already in one of his EOs! So many things have happened, I forgot about that one
@tiamat271 Denali is still showing on Google maps and Google search as 'Denali.'
Wikipedia still shows it as "Denali... federally designated as Mount McKinley..."
Still annoying but not changed yet.
@Jason844 that’s weird. I just checked and it was included in the same EO as the Gulf of Mexico. Maybe they just haven’t gotten around to it yet (or maybe somebody “accidentally” lost the necessary paperwork)
@tiamat271 Did it, I'd been looking for that, thanks
@sunumbral you’re welcome!
@tiamat271
I did too! That was fun!
@tiamat271 Here in Denmark, Google says “Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)”
Apple maps shows this:
@ggmartin yeah I think I heard that Google decided it would look different to users in different countries. Glad it’s still showing the correct name for you!
@tiamat271 Done!
