I realise I never pinned that post to my profile, and I have since deleted the Mastodon thread, so I'm sharing it again. I'm pinning it this time!
My Mastodon account has post auto-deletion enabled, and the original thread for this post is gone. I created a new one that is exempt from being deleted auto-magically.

I think if you look into the details if you bookmark your posts, they will not be deleted.
I’ve used that strategy for an extended period myself. Because I post so much crap I consider it a matter of hygiene to have many of them gracefully retire
