Archie and Cassie attempt some magic in the Dreamlands and it works, but not as intended. This is the first time they've been here in dream and so they have to use Dreaming to affect the world around them. Their magical training makes them good at this and then soon get on with what they came here for, a 15C monk caught in a stasis spell.

A new ship and new PCs, we're going Next Gen this time. I've got a Betazoid petty security officer and we're up against the Romulans, attempting to rescue a ship which has strayed into the neutral zone. I call shenanigans.

More into the Oddness, and again a game in person with people from the Raspy Raven discord. We checked out the Arcanist Gaming pub in Hackney and pretty good it was too. MBL brings Athurian style to a strange fantasy land. We hexed crawled two hexes and it was very weird, and mythical, and entertaining. This calls out for campaign play.
New year, new games! 2025 is bringing some major releases – RPGs, shooters, and surprises we can’t wait to play.

Another Into the Odd hack, the third and my sixth game in a week (phew!). My randomly generated character is an insubstantial servant who died and became a ghost when pursuing riches. However he can touch magical things which proves useful as we try to reconstruct the Moon God. But the finished article proves too much. I started out dead and finished dead and mad. It was jolly good fun.

There's no time to chase Crispin this week as Austin Osman Spare has been brought in to reinforce the sigil guarding the portal. There are some difficulties but overcome with careful magics and the job is done. Next week, back to the Dreamlands to see where the portal is coming from.

As we meander our way up the Snek river we encounter locals and travellers and try not to upset anyone and have to kill again. It's not so bad with humans but reasoning with an angry mother giant beaver is harder, unless one of you can magically speak with animals. But that too comes with a cost, a now we are drawn into another factional fight.

This only three players so we investigate the source of the plague in Eversink, and who might be selling cures, as they are the likely channel. A favour is called in by a Marid and we have to burgle again.

Two games in a day! I ran my Folklore Bestiary (https://www.themerrymushmen.com/product/a-folklore-bestiary-for-old-school-essentials-tmm/) game, Lou Pétassou, with Cairn. The random pre-gens were great, full of hooks for players, and my group took full advantage and were all excellent throughout. Such a pleasure to run a game for them.
I came home and slept for 11 hours. Two days later and I'm still not really over it. Well, I guess I know my CFS/ME limit now.

An in person game again, a two session one day con in a London pub. EBL is the same system as Cairn, and into the Odd and pretty good for a murder mystery on a boat. We didn't quite get enough time to finish it but my face had already been eaten by then in what turned out to be a TPK. That said, it was great fun.

Clear the air with Muster, keeping him away from his mine and then scry for the missing student Crispin with his wicket-keeping glove, with protection. Once again, they are confronted by the fly they get each time they scry for Carthusians. It seems to be guarding the library directly, so is Crispin in the library, or in the fly?

The packsquab comes through again as I use it to drop a bomb on the fort, unexpectedly killing all the soldiers who had already been poisoned. We manage to navigate our way between rebels and soldiers, having liberated some of the former from the fort and having a uniform from the latter. It's all a bit busy round this river so we're headed up into the hills in search of a friend.

So the Zombie plague has taken hold of Eversink and but we manage to get back to the Guild without too much trouble, pulling a fast one to get through quarantine. And we're given a budget to produce the antidote, but my outsider sell sword is deemed most trustworthy and put in charge of it. That's a whole can of worms I didn't want on my plate. Interesting times, good stuff!

24. #StarTrekAdventures (#Modiphius) Seems that we hadn't finished the scenario, there was still a whole bit of battling with the Prime Directive and an extended contest to make a vaccine. This was sort of OK but it did drag on and took about 20 minutes to resolved with almost all the focus on one player. It does give a Star Trek experience but it is quite slow to play.

I've not played this before. It was a playtest for a Con game and was good fun. I played a rich professor who didn't have magical skills but there was plenty for me to do.
