letterboxd.comA ★½ review of The Watchers (2024)Der Film ist einfach nicht zu mir durchgedrungen – auf keiner Ebene. Seine Betrachtung vom Publikum als Horror ist nur wenig konsequent. Das dichotome Verhalten des Publikums als Menge, die eine künstlich hergestellte Situation als lebensnah wahrnehmen will und sie gleichzeitig aber eben auch als Spiel mit Regeln zu durchblicken glaubt, das wird zwar angelegt, aber letztlich nicht konsequent genug verfolgt. Vieles bleibt einfach liegen. Den Film im letzten Akt noch in eine Art Folk-Horror kippen zu lassen, zieht den Karren auch nicht mehr aus dem Dreck und geht auch nicht wirklich auf. Folk-Horror basiert doch letztlich auf Geschichten, die

Ho visto #TheWatchers il film di esordio della "raccomandatissima" figlia di #MNightShyamalan

Scrivo "raccomandatissima" perché è ovvio che sono ben poche le persone che possono avere le possibilità offerte da un padre-#regista così importante. Tuttavia, sperando che sia veramente tutta farina del suo sacco, la figlia #IshanaNightShyamalan esordisce con un film #horror che ha degli aspetti quantomeno interessanti e degni di nota 1/7
