Oh fuck you Lexmark - printer cartridges that not only have a chip to prevent refilling/reuse... But the toner is *also* region locked!!??
Yes a cheap "Asia Pacific" toner won't work in a "European" printer.
Oh but obviously there's a thriving black market for replacement chips (albeit they're sold at a massive profit)
Region. Locked. Printer. Toner. FFS.

Someone was trying to argue I should purchase aftermarket inks for my printers to save money. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! I have seen so many issues with aftermarket inks. Anything from clogging the print heads, to wearing out the printer's motor, or on at least two occasions creating slightly inaccurate colours. Somethings you can go aftermarket, but printer inks is NOT ONE of them. #Epson, #Canon, #HP, #Lexmark, #Brother #inkjet

Honestly? I get that the printer industry is becoming more and more niche but I think part of that is people are sick of dealing with #HP #Lexmark #Dell BS when it comes to figuring out how they can wring more money out of people by putting DRM in carts and making the repair process unnecessarily complex. I did HP, Lexmark, and Dell printer repairs and to replace some parts on those systems legit required HOURS just to get to that part as it is all nested crap.
If your engineers could take a crack at decreasing the complexity to repair it would go a long way towards getting people to actually be interested in printers again.
