Admittedly, we do many flavored vodkas. But, when #deepeddyvodka sent us a bottle, we couldn't resist scratching that long ignored itch.
Made with real pineapple, Deep Eddy's take on vodka + pineapple is both sweet, tropical, while maintaining that grain, or in this case, corn, based vodka flavor.
Oh, and the 'action-shot'? Well, let's just say you probably don't want to be drinking that much Deep Eddy in one sitting. Not at 35% ABV (or around 70 proof). As for us, we stuck with a 2 ounce sample as part of our sensory journey.

Visually, Pineapple Vodka is hazy with a pale straw color. Swirling and sniffing, tropical citrus notes of pineapple and banana, arm-wrestle with that familiar Deep Eddy's corn alcohol smell immediately greeted you.
Sipping, those same tropical notes immediately greet you, almost cane sugar like notes, followed by corn-based vodka, finishing overall smooth.
For our money, we think this would make for a fun pina colada, unblended, or keep it simple with this and a few ounces of soda water. Either way, have some fun and enjoy spring and the upcoming prospect of summer!

½ oz lemon juice
1¾ oz pineapple juice
¼ oz simple syrup
½ oz Aperol
2 oz mezcal espadín

Garnish: pineapple wedge, pineapple frond
Method: Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake. Prepare pineapple wedge by pouring some harissa into a small plate then dabbing one side of the wedge to cover it. Strain over a large rock and garnish with the prepped wedge plus fronds.

A fun Jungle Bird riff for the change of seasons. Nevermind spring or fall, it works for both! Spec is originally by Devon Espinosa but I found it on The Educated Barfly's IG channel. My pic is lacking the fun harissa-pineapple garnish, but luckily I had frozen some fronds the last time I had a whole pineapple, so it's at least half garnished.

Pineapple chicken!! As in for the chicken, not a cooking recipe...gosh, humans.

Clear signs of not being well for about three days: sluggish, tail down, feathers puffed up, enlarged crop that didn't empty over night. Didn't appear to be sour crop, no hard crop content. Not bird flu either.

Got a fresh pineapple and made juice to get the active enzymes. The sick bird had some, and after two days of juice twice a day, she was pretty much back to normal.
