Today, as it turns out, is a special day: The Day of Firing Up Garden Equipment.

The tiller is a Troybilt, probably from the 1970s. The motor has been replaced at some point. I’ve owned it for 5 years.

An action photo: Tilling the half of the garden that had vegetables last year. Left side, tilled; right side, mulch on the surface. On the first pass, I’m just stirring last year’s mulch into the soil. In a few days, I’ll scatter oats then till again. This area will be in cover crops for the whole season.

doesn’t get a huge amount of attention, but we are in the vanguard for bad, unwoke AF policy. Our Gov and the Repub dominated legislature loosened child labor laws last year. Before that, they banned DEI as much as possible. We’ve got book bans, too. Public money for private schools? You bet.
