That's 200 #lightyears in with. Military radio beams have traveled about 60 ly so far.

The nearest #exoplanets are about 12 and 41 ly away from Earth, so they are inside that BLUE DOT

You can't travel hyperfast in space, bc of the dust, but going kinda fast, it will take a LONG TIME to get to 12 ly away.

(Adam Grossman/Nick Risinger/Planetary Society) The invention of radio was the work of many great minds over the course of several decades during the 19th century, but the first transmission was made in 1895. Radio broadcasting came along a few years later. The first intentional radio transmission to space, called the Arecibo message, wasn't until 1974, but we've been leaking radio signals into space for over 100 years. Many of those are probably garbled by the ionosphere. Even those that aren't (like Earth-space communications), by the time they're 100 light-years away, are so attenuated and weak that they're basically undetectable anyway. So, if there are any intelligent aliens beyond that radius, and if they have radio technology, they probably couldn't pick up what we're putting out there. The same could be true in the other direction. HD 149143, also called Rosalíadecastro, is a #star with a close orbiting #exoplanet in the #Ophiuchus #constellation. Its #apparentVisualMagnitude is 7.89 (a binocular object) and the #absoluteMagnitude is 3.87. The system is located at a distance of 239 #lightYears from the Sun based on #parallax measurements, and it is drifting further away with a #radialVelocity of 12 km/s. On December 17, 2019, as part of the #IAU's #NameExoWorlds project.
