The Stratollite launched yesterday from Tucson, Arizona by World View Space is currently operating over restricted airspace of the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico.
The mission is part of the Aether Project carried out by Sierra Nevada Corp. for UK's MOD.
Aether’s goal is to develop an unmanned stratospheric ultra-persistent communication and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capability.
World View Space launched this morning from SpacePort Tucson in Arizona a Stratollite balloon.
The long-duration flight is sponsored by Sierra Nevada Corp. for its Aether Project.
The balloon is hovering not far from the launch site at the usual altitude of 70.000 feet.
