History of Art

A Scene from Lalla Rookh (1891) by American artist Thomas Moran (1837-1926). This work was inspired by Thomas Moore's 1817 romantic #poem Lalla Rookh, in which the titular heroine is the daughter of a 17th-century Mughal emperor. Here Moran captures the atmosphere of Oriental splendor from Moore's tale, setting fancifully decorated sailboats and colorful crowds against a glowing skyline of exotic domed palaces and towering castles.

Inside Golden Chopsticks (2011); This was my favorite restaurant, and been going there since 2003, until it is close down for legal issues in 2014. Most of my favorite places had been closed down or changed, which makes me feel out of place. I used to go to this place on weekends, with friends, but since 2012, I've started to go alone one day a week, since all my friends got on with their lives. Shooting this panorama was done by placing the tripod and camera on a table, and the shoot was for 180 degrees or so, so it's not a "full" panorama. #panorama #red #panoramic #interior #architecture #oriental #Chinese #China #restaurant #decoration
